LONG CREEK APIARIES UPDATE

For those of you who are looking for some current information on the status of LCA and David Winters, The Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs, as of May 7, 2012, has now placed LONG CREEK APIARIES, of Parrotsville, Tennessee on the state’s BUYER BEWARE LIST:

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
From Tennessee’s website regarding the Buyer Beware list guidelines in part:

“What qualifies a business or individual to be listed on the Buyer Beware list? "
“1.  A response was received but resolution was not provided as promised in writing.  (The Division, not the consumer, will make the determination if the business or individual did not correct or address the complaint.)

2.  A company or individual that appears to be conducting business without the required license or registration to engage in such business or profession

3.  Businesses and individuals may also be listed if legal proceedings are in process that indicate suspicious activity.  “

LONG CREEK APIARIES CLOSED FOR BUSINESS and GMO CROPS?

Many of you have visited the Long Creek Apiaries Website to find David Winters is claiming he is out of business and is claiming GMO crops have contributed to “extensive losses” of Winter’s honey bees…….GET ME A VIOLIN…..David Winters stole your money and he can’t refund it or send you your bees, so a new excuse his borne to cover his nefarious activity(ponzi  like scheme):

From Long Creek Apiaries Website:
“Due to extensive colony losses due to several hundred acres of Gmo soybeans within flying distance of our colonies, we will not be shipping any packages or queens this year of for the foreseeable future.  We were able to deal with the mites and hive beetles but we haven’t figured out how to deal with genetically modified crops that are now almost everywhere.  This is the worst disaster we have seen in fifty-two years of beekeeping.  It is with much regret and sadness that we must close Long Creek.  It is very much like losing a child or family member.  Beekeeping information will be maintained on this site for a period of time.  Thank you everyone for your support.”

REALLY?! Nothing about the money he owes for the past 4 years.......

HONEY GIFT JARS!

These golden 4 oz glass jars filled with Rush River Gold™ Wildflower Honey are great gifts!  These little gems are a replica from the 1800's and are known as 'Muth' jars.  These jars have an engraved bee skep hive on the front and a cork stopper with the words ' Pure Honey' stamped in the cork.  I heat shrink and seal the cork stopper (not shown), and tie them with my label, Rush River Gold™, and colorful strands of rafia.  These jars also make awesome wedding or shower gifts!

My Solar Wax Melter!

My first solar wax melter!  I built this last October to melt all the wax cappings and wax scrapings i have stored in my freezer for the past 6 years.  I built the box to fit the window.  It was a labor of love plus a lot of non Disney language, (like aw fooey), along the way while building.  I am a good carpenter, but not a tinner (my brother is, I could have used his help!)  The window was a defective window I saved from when we replaced the windows in our home.  Beeswax melts at about 160 degrees.  The wax is heated and bleached naturally by the sun; filtered through hardware cloth, window screening and paper towel, to a pan below.  This will give me very clean wax for making lip balm or candles,or giving away to hunters with bowstrings or fishers with fishing rods. I put an oven temperature gauge in the box to keep track of the heat. Too much heat will destroy the color and properties of the wax once it has melted.  It was about 70 degrees today and a little cool, but this wax began to melt within 1 hour.

HER MAJESTY, THE QUEEN.....

The queen bee, without her the hive will not survive.  Note the worker bees surrounding her in a circle with their antennae touching her.  This is a form of communication.

LONG CREEK APIARIES/DAVID WINTERS OWES ME $740

June 29, 2011

12 months, 365 days), ONE YEAR, I have NO REFUND OF MY $740.00 from David Winters of Long Creek Apiaries.  David Winters refuses to refund my money I paid to him for honey bees he did not deliver as promised.  David Winters does not reply to my emails, my phone calls, my letters or my attorney's letters to him.  Now he is telling beekeepers he is selling hives to pay off those he owes, he said that last year, and i still have no refund.

I ordered 7, 3# packages of honey bees, with queens, from David Winters on February 23, 2010.  I mailed a cashiers check to David Winters of Long Creek Apiaries on March 5, 2010 and David Winters cashed my check within 4 days.

On June 29, 2010 I had not received the honey bees I paid for and David Winters promised me. I demanded a refund from David Winters of Long Creek Apiaries.  I have no refund of my money, and I have no honey bees.

I am not the only beekeeper David Winters of Long Creek Apiaries has stolen money from, or did not deliver honey bees as promised.  Check out:
